Powering Sustainable Living: A Case Study of Solar PV, Battery Storage, and GSHP Integration for a Barn Conversion in Suffolk
Our client faced high energy bills as they had a large floor space to heat, an outdated oil boiler as well as an indoor pool that relied on a worn-out air source heat pump to be heated.
Infinite offered an energy-saving solution which provides an abundance of heating and hot water during colder months from an innovative hybrid heat pump system that combines both ground source and air source technologies. However in the summertime, when air temperatures are higher, the air source heat pump is used solely to heat the pool and cater to smaller heating demands within the property.
We also installed solar PV and battery storage. An 8kw solar system and 20kwh of battery storage were installed. On sunny days, the solar panels charge the batteries, powering the pool heating, hot water, and the electric vehicle. On cloudy days, a variable energy tariff allows for charging the batteries overnight.
With our solution, our client has reduced their bills and enjoyed sustainable, carbon-free heating and energy. They now live happily, embracing lower costs and a greener future.
